Caritas Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences, through its social responsibility initiative LIFE (Caritas Social Responsibility), in collaboration with the District Women and Child Development Department and the District Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Alappuzha, successfully organized a Cancer Awareness Session and Free Mammogram Camp on June 24, 2026, at Ambalappuzha North Panchayath Shishuvihar, TDMC Ward 3.

The awareness session was led by Dr. Jose Jom Thomas, Consultant – Community Medicine, Caritas Hospital, who emphasized the importance of early cancer detection, breast health awareness, and regular screening as key measures in reducing the burden of cancer among women. The programme received enthusiastic participation from members of the community and served as an important platform for promoting preventive healthcare and encouraging timely medical intervention.
