The Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care provides inter-disciplinary medical care based on applications of anaesthesia in surgery, diagnostics, critical care and pain management. The ALS/BLS trained team of anaesthesiologists in the Anaesthesiology Department efficiently extends expert services to all specialties. The high-tech monitoring and life-saving equipment and other facilities also make the Anaesthesiology Department of Caritas one of the best in Kerala.
The Department provides anaesthesia services to various surgical specialties and super specialties. The Anaesthesia Department also provides services for procedures outside the theatres like ERCP.
The pre-anaesthesia clinic treats and screens surgical patients on an outpatient basis. The anaesthetists visit patients admitted for surgeries on the previous day of surgery. Labor analgesia also rendered by the department when required.
