The 'Palliative Care Unit Strengthening Program,' jointly organized by the Health Commission of the Kottayam Archeparchy, Caritas Hospital, and the Kaduthuruthy Forane, was successfully held on March 1st at Kaduthuruthy Church. The event was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director and CEO of Caritas Hospital, while Rev. Fr Johnson Neelanirappel, Vicar of Kaduthuruthy Church, presided over the function.
Aimed at empowering palliative units with modern facilities, the project distributed essential medical equipment including hospital beds, mattresses, wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen concentrators, and sugar-BP monitoring machines. In addition to the distribution, an awareness seminar and volunteer training session were led by Dr. Krishnapriya V from the Palliative Medicine Department of Caritas Hospital.
This initiative was made possible through the full cooperation of the parishes of Kaduthuruthy, Eravimangalam, Karippadam, Memmury, Kothanalloor, Thottara, Arunootimangalam, Poozhikkol, Neezhoor, and Kallara, program also attended by Senior Specialist Dr. Jose Jom and other Forane priests.
