Caritas Hospital has launched the Malankara Forane-level Palliative Care Programme in Chingavanam. The inaugural ceremony was held at St. John’s Knanaya Catholic Church, where His Excellency Bishop Geevarghese Mar Aprem, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Kottayam, officially inaugurated the programme.

The programme commenced at 3:00 PM on August 14 with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Sabu Paranickal, President, KCC Malankara. Following the inauguration, an awareness seminar on palliative care was also conducted. The seminar was led by Dr. Krishnapriya V., Senior Specialist, Department of Palliative Medicine, Caritas Hospital.

Rev. Fr. Binu Kunnath, Director & CEO, Caritas Hospital, offered felicitations at the event. He highlighted that the programme would play a crucial role at a time when the need for palliative care is increasing in the community.

Mr. Joby Vaniyampurayidathil, President, Chingavanam KCC, delivered the vote of thanks. Parishioners and representatives from Caritas Hospital were also present at the programme.
