‘Cancer Shield’ Project Launched

As part of V-Guard Industries Limited’s CSR initiative, in association with Caritas Hospital, the ‘Cancer Shield’ health protection project has been launched for women police officers in Kottayam district and the family members of police personnel. Implemented in collaboration with Caritas Hospital, the project offers free mammogram and ultrasound scan examinations. The inauguration and flag-off ceremony of the project was performed by the Honorable Kerala Minister for Ports, Cooperation and Devaswom, Shri. V. N. Vasavan.

V-Guard has introduced this project as a gesture of gratitude for the unparalleled and dedicated service of the Kerala Police. Through the Cancer Shield project, the main focus is on the importance of timely health screenings and adopting healthy habits that can help reduce the risk of disease. Emphasizing that early diagnosis is one of the most important factors in preventing loss of life, V-Guard Foundation Director Dr. Reena Mithun Chittilappilly said so.

The screenings will be conducted from February 2 to March 7. The camps will be organized at various locations across Kottayam district using a specially equipped mobile mammogram unit of Caritas Hospital and Institute of Health Sciences.

The event was attended by Kottayam District Collector Shri. Chetan Kumar Meena, IAS, District Police Chief Shri. Shahul Hameed A, IPS, and Director & CEO of Caritas Hospital, Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath.

This health protection project is being implemented with the participation of the Kerala Police Senior Officers Association, Kerala Police Officers Association, and Kerala Police Association.
