Caritas Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences, in association with LIFE – Caritas Social Responsibility and the Food Safety Department, Kottayam, successfully organized an awareness session on "Food Safety: Preventing Foodborne Illnesses Through Safe Food Handling and Hygiene." The Programme was inaugurated by Shri Chetan Kumar Meena, IAS, District Collector & District Magistrate, Kottayam.
The session featured Dr. Gayathri A. V., Consultant – Community Medicine, Caritas Hospital, as the resource person, who shared valuable insights on food hygiene, safe food handling practices, and the prevention of foodborne illnesses.
The Programme aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining food safety at every stage, from preparation to consumption. Through practical guidance and expert advice, the session encouraged participants to adopt safe food practices, helping build healthier communities and reduce the risk of foodborne diseases.
