Caritas ‘RUN FOR YOUR HEART’ 2026 Successfully Concludes with a Message of Heart Health Awareness.
Kottayam: “Run for Your Heart – Caritas Marathon 2026,” organized by Caritas Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences in association with Decathlon as part of World Heart Day, concluded on a vibrant note. Organized with the message “A Step Towards a Healthy Heart,” the marathon witnessed the participation of around 500 people, including members of the public, employees, and students.
Adding to the World Heart Day celebrations and carrying the message of heart health, “Kuttappi the Robo 3.0” also joined the participants in the marathon at Caritas. This marks the first time in Kerala’s healthcare sector that a robot has participated in a marathon. The special presence, bringing together technology and health awareness, added further attraction to the event.
The 10-kilometre marathon began at 6:00 AM from Caritas Matha Hospital and passed through key locations including Caritas Round, Pattithanam, and Ettumanoor before concluding back at Caritas Matha Hospital.
Ettumanoor Police Station CI Prasobh K.K. flagged off the marathon. Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director & CEO, Caritas Hospital & Educational Institutions; Rev. Fr. John Poochakkattil; Rev. Fr. Saiju Puthenparambil; Rev. Fr. Joice Nandikunnel; Dr. Johny Joseph, HOD, Caritas Heart Institute; and other doctors were present at the event.
The competition was organized in separate categories for men and women, with participants divided into under-50 and above-50 age groups. Cash prizes of ₹5,000, ₹3,000, and ₹2,000 were awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners in each category, respectively.
Organized with the aim of spreading awareness about heart health and encouraging a healthy lifestyle and regular physical activity, “Run for Your Heart – Caritas Marathon 2026” was a grand success. Along with conveying the message of heart health to the public, the participation of Kuttappi the Robo 3.0, a unique technological attraction, added further charm to the marathon.
