As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the ‘Pratheeksha’ programme was launched at Caritas Cancer Institute. The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director and CEO of Caritas Hospital.

‘Pratheeksha’ is a special camp where, for the first time in Kerala, all oncologists at Caritas Hospital came together to provide free breast examinations and OPD consultations. Held on October 1 at Caritas Cancer Institute, the camp benefited more than 100 people with free breast examinations and expert OPD consultations.

The programme was organised with the aim of increasing awareness about breast cancer and highlighting the importance of early screening and diagnosis to the public. The importance of timely diagnosis in ensuring appropriate treatment was also explained during the programme.

Prof. Dr. Jose Tom, HOD & Senior Consultant, Radiation Oncology, attended the programme. Joint Directors of the Cancer Institute, doctors from various departments, and staff members were also present.

Through ‘Pratheeksha’, Caritas aims to increase awareness about breast cancer screening and encourage the public to seek expert medical care at the right time without ignoring any symptoms.
