Kottayam: The Pediatric Department, previously functioning at Caritas Hospital, has been relocated to Caritas Matha Hospital as of November 19, 2024. The newly inaugurated department, designed to provide a child-friendly environment, offers advanced pediatric care under the expertise of 12 doctors across different disciplines, including General Pediatrics, Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric Pulmonology, and Pediatric & Neonatal Surgery.

The inauguration ceremony was held at Caritas Matha Hospital at 3 PM, with Fr. Jinu Kavil delivering the welcome address. Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director of Caritas Hospital and Educational Institutions, presided over the event. The pediatric department was formally inaugurated by child actor Devananda, who commended the hospital for creating an inviting environment with a children’s area and play zone, ensuring a positive atmosphere for young patients.

Dr. Sajan Thomas, Associate Medical Director and Senior Consultant in Neonatology, along with Ettumanoor Municipality Councilor Mrs. Ansu Joseph, held the felicitations. During the event, Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath presented mementos to the dignitaries and highlighted the teamwork between the nursing department, pediatric department, and other medical staff, which made this milestone possible.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Senior Consultant Pediatrics, Dr. Sunu John. The Pediatric Department's relocation indicates a new chapter for Caritas Hospital, ensuring the finest pediatric care in a more accessible and specialized environment at Caritas Matha Hospital.
