The Ethics Committee CME Programme 2026, organized by the Ethics Committee of Caritas Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences, was successfully conducted at the Diamond Jubilee Conference Hall. The Programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Sajith Kumar R, Professor Emeritus (IDU), Government Medical College, Kottayam, and was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Joice Nandikunnel, Joint Director – Operations, Caritas Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences, through the ceremonial lamp lighting and inaugural address. The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Judith Aaron, Senior Consultant – Radiation Oncology, Caritas Cancer Institute.
The one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme brought together healthcare professionals and researchers to strengthen their understanding of research ethics, ethical review processes, and the latest regulatory guidelines governing biomedical and clinical research. The academic sessions, led by renowned experts Prof. Dr. Animesh Jain and Prof. Dr. Ashok Shenoy from KMC, Mangalore, provided valuable insights into ICMR Guidelines, clinical trial regulations, informed consent, ethics committee review processes, AI in biomedical research, and good publication practices. The Programme served as an excellent platform for promoting ethical excellence, responsible research practices, and continuous professional learning.
