Caritas Hospital, in partnership with Decathlon, successfully organized a marathon event, "Carithon," to commemorate World Heart Day. The event, held under the theme "Use Heart for Action," aimed to raise awareness about heart health and encourage community participation.
The marathon, which began at 6:45 AM from Caritas Matha Hospital and concluded at the same location at 8 AM, saw over 200 participants traverse key areas including Caritas Round and Ettumanur. Rev. Fr. Stephen Thevarapparambil, Joint Director of Caritas Hospital, and Dr. Johny Joseph, HOD of Caritas Heart Institute, jointly flagged off the marathon.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both the youth and the general public, reflecting growing community awareness about heart health issues. Rev. Fr. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director of Caritas, emphasized the hospital's ongoing efforts to educate the community about heart health and expressed satisfaction with the event's success in conveying the message of World Heart Day.
A prize distribution ceremony followed the marathon, where Ettumanur Circle Inspector, Anzil A S, presented awards to the winners. Rev. Fr. Jismon Mathathil, Joint Director of Media and Relations at Caritas Hospital, was also present at the event.
