As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Caritas Hospital organized a special event called "Pratheeksha" at the Diamond Jubilee Hall. The program, held on October 10th at 3:30 PM, featured Dr. Boban Thomas, Senior Consultant in Medical Oncology, delivering the welcome address. Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director of Caritas Hospital, presided over the function, with actress and TV anchor Jewel Mary as the chief guest. Jewel Mary, a thyroid cancer survivor, shared her personal experiences and survival memories with the audience. Sub Inspector Shanthi K Balu of the Narcotics Cell offered felicitations, while Prof. Dr. Jose Tom, Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology, expressed gratitude.
The event also included the unveiling of a special package for teachers called "Pink Teachers." Additionally, the hospital celebrated the completion of 500 free mammogram screening tests within a year through its Mobile Mammogram Unit.
Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director & CEO of Caritas Hospital, stated that the gathering was a testament to the hope and resilience of cancer survivors and those fighting the disease. During the event, Federal Bank Foundation was honored for its support in providing financial assistance to economically disadvantaged cancer patients.
