Kottayam, Kerala: A historic milestone in the healthcare landscape of Central Travancore was achieved on September 7, 2024, as the Caritas Matha Hospital opened its doors, marking a significant expansion of the 63-year legacy of Caritas Hospital in the region.

Shri. V. N. Vasavan, Hon’ble minister for ports, co-operation and Devaswoms, formally inaugurated the hospital, heralding a new era of compassionate, affordable, and quality healthcare. In his presidential address, His Grace Mar Mathew Moolakkatt underscored the hospital's commitment to serving the community with empathy and excellence. "This is more than just a hospital; it is a beacon of hope for Central Travancore," he said. The hospital's comprehensive range of specialised departments and advanced diagnostic facilities address the pressing healthcare needs of the region. The Center of Excellence in Mother and Child Care, in particular, is a significant addition to the healthcare infrastructure, offering specialised care for expectant mothers and newborns.
Esteemed dignitaries, including His Excellency Mar Joseph Pandarasseril, Auxiliary Bishop of the Knanaya Catholic Archdiocese of Kottayam, graced the inaugural ceremony. Joining him were His Excellency Gheevarghese Mar Aphrem, Auxiliary Bishop of the Knanaya Catholic Archdiocese of Kottayam, and Rev. Fr. Binu Kunnath, Director, Caritas Hospital and Institute of Health Sciences.
