Cardiac Electrophysiology
Cardiac Electrophysiology , a subspecialty of cardiology deals with heart rhythm disorders .
Heart rhythm disorders encompasses the spectrum of simple tachyarrhythmias like supra ventricular tachycardia and ominous arrhythmias like ventricular tachycardia ventricular fibrillation. Therapeutic options include anti arrhythmic drugs to radio frequency ablation
Some of them will require implantation devices - the automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator
Bradyarrhythmias will require pacing. A subset of patients with heart failure will require cardiac resynchronisation therapy / conduction system pacing .
Syncope evaluation will also require electrophysiology inputs.
