Senior Residents in Critical Care are essential for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). The role involves managing complex medical conditions, supporting the critical care team, and contributing to the overall patient management and departmental functions. Senior Residents will work closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of critically ill patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in the ICU.
  • Perform procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and arterial line insertion under supervision.
  • Monitor and manage patients’ conditions, including administering medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, and adjusting treatment plans.
  • Provide support in emergency situations, including rapid response and critical interventions.
  • Participate in the daily rounds, patient evaluations, and documentation of clinical findings.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in managing critical care patients and performing essential procedures.
  • Strong understanding of critical care principles, including ventilation management and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Capability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment and handle emergency situations.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
