Job Description

An Occupational Therapist helps individuals achieve independence and improve their ability to perform daily activities. They assess patients' physical, emotional, and social needs and develop personalized treatment plans to aid in their recovery and enhance their quality of life. This role involves working with people of all ages who may have physical, mental, or developmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine patients' abilities and needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on thorough evaluations.
  • Implement therapeutic activities to enhance patients' physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Use creative and evidence-based approaches to promote independence in daily living activities.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, physical therapists, and speech therapists.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure understanding and engagement in the therapeutic process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Prepare detailed reports for medical teams and insurance purposes.
  • Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and equipment to improve quality of life.
  • Provide support and guidance throughout the rehabilitation process.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in using therapy equipment and technology.
  • Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and techniques.
