Dr. Jeeva George is an accomplished Anaesthesiologist with specialized expertise in Neuroanaesthesia, Interventional Radiology Anaesthesia, and perioperative neurocritical care. With advanced training from premier institutions and a strong academic foundation in neuromonitoring and cerebral oxygenation, he brings extensive experience in managing high-risk neurosurgical, neurointerventional, and critical care patients. His clinical acumen is complemented by award-winning research and multiple national-level presentations.
Areas of Expertise
- Anaesthesia for complex neurosurgical procedures including awake craniotomy, intracranial aneurysm surgeries, epilepsy surgeries, high- and low-flow bypass, and functional neurosurgery
- Intraoperative neuromonitoring: SSEP, MEP, BAEP, VEP
- Cerebral oxygenation and depth of anaesthesia monitoring using NIRS and SjvO₂
- Anaesthesia for interventional radiology procedures: AVM embolization, flow diverter insertion, VOGM embolization
- Paediatric anaesthesia for MRI
- Neurocritical care management of neurosurgical, neuromedical and stroke patients
- Airway management including fibreoptic, video laryngoscopy, nasotracheal and endotracheal intubations
- Ultrasound-guided airway assessment, DVT screening and lung ultrasound
- Venepuncture, central venous access, central neuraxial and peripheral nerve blocks
- Critical care management including ventilator management, HD cannula insertion and percutaneous tracheostomy
Research & Academic Contributions
- Conducted comparative studies on respiratory and haemodynamic responses in neurosurgical extubation techniques (MD Thesis)
- Led a prospective observational pilot study on transcranial doppler velocity variations and cerebral oxygenation using NIRS as markers for neurosurgical outcomes (DM Thesis)
- Multiple oral presentations at national anaesthesia conferences including ISACON, ISNAAC and NCSI
- Recipient of First Prize (Free Paper Category) – ISNAAC 2022
