Nephrology & Renal Transplant
The department of Nephrology at Caritas Hospital is one of the premier renal centres in the Central Travancore region of Kerala. The department has a large number of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) on follow-up. The Centre adopts effective and comprehensive management strategies to reduce the progression of CKD. The Dialysis Unit here is the first dialysis centres under a private sector medical institution in the state of Kerala. The department offers specialized care to patients with various renal problems including end stage renal disease and acute kidney injury. The department has all the latest medical equipment to provide the most effective treatment to the patients. A large maintenance Hemodialysis Program and machines for performing CRRT for the critically ill patients are the other notable features. The experienced renal nurses and dialysis technicians offer efficient support to the team of nephrologists to provide the best treatment to the patients.

The department successfully runs a Renal Transplantation Programme, which was the first of its kind in the region when came into existence in 2012. We undertake both Live Donor and Deceased Renal Transplantations.
